Airbnb bans house parties worldwide

Airbnb has announced a global ban on all parties and events at Airbnb listings after a crackdown on over 50 party houses in Atlanta last week.

The company announced that starting Friday, the party ban will apply to all future bookings. 

Occupancy at Airbnb listings will also be limited to 16 people. The company said the ban would be indefinite. Last week, Airbnb announced they would suspend or remove over 50 listings in Atlanta that were known to host large parties and were violating the company’s policies. 

The move came after months of complaints from neighbors about huge, out-of-control crowds and at least two shootings.
