Nigerian football team arrested, fined & deported from the UAE for overstaying

The Ras Al Khaimah Civil Court ordered a 22-member Nigerian football squad comprising players, administrative staff and technicians to pay Dh1,000 each and then be deported, after being found guilty of staying beyond the legally permitted period.
A senior court official said the team had come to the UAE on the invitation of Ras Al Khaimah Sports Club to play several matches.
"They played one game at the club, then the entire unit disappeared," said the official. He added that the disappearance shocked everybody, and the Ras Al Khaimah Sports Club spent a long time searching for them. "The club's administration then reported the incident to Ras Al Khaimah Police, who arrested all 22 members of the team in coordination with other police departments," the official said. He added that the team members had been referred to the Ras Al Khaimah Public Prosecutor, which charged them with staying in the country beyond the legally permitted period.
"The Public Prosecution then referred them all to Ras Al Khaimah's Civil Court which ordered them to pay a Dh1,000 fine each to be followed by immediate deportation," the official added. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Courts, later ordered the fines waived.

Are you ready for Kanye West's first sequel album for #Donda?

The Grammy winner is all set to release his first sequel album for recent hit ‘Donda’ on February 22.
The 44-year-old rapper confirmed the news on his Instagram handle by sharing a photo of his Chicago home on fire, the same home he rebuilt for one of his Donda listening parties in 2021.
“DONDA2 COMING 2 22 22 EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY FUTURE,” he captioned the post.
The original album ‘Donda’ was named after West’s mother, who died in 2002.
The album arrived last August, two years after his previous album, Jesus Is King. Jay-Z, The Weeknd, Jay Electronica, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Lil Baby, Kid Cudi, Pop Smoke and more appeared on the album. During his third listening party in Chicago, West brought out controversial artists Marilyn Manson and DaBaby, both of whom were featured on the album, and stood on the steps of his rebuilt childhood home.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Donda’ is nominated for several Grammys, including album of the year and rap album of the year, while ‘Hurricane’ and ‘Jail’ are up for best melodic rap performance and best rap song, respectively. Ahead of the release of ‘Donda 2,’ a documentary about the musician premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, before it hits Netflix on February 16.
The documentary will showcase West’s rise in music, from young producer and wannabe rapper to Grammy winner and global superstar.
The documentary also covers the 2007 death of West’s mother, the rapper’s mental health struggles and his failed presidential bid in 2020, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.
‘Donda 2,’ which marks West’s 11th album, is executive produced by Future.

Full list of fines & penalties for breaking social media rules in the UAE

This post is for residents of the UAE. And even tourists.
Online users in the UAE are urged to refrain from posting or sharing unofficial news or information from unauthorised sources on social media to avoid hefty penalties, legal experts have warned. Mohammad Al Dahbashi, Managing Partner of ADG Legal, said the new cybercrime law places a responsibility on users to verify the source and credibility of information before sharing on social media.
“The law is clear in stating that a person will be penalized when sharing any content that contains rumors, fake news, unofficial news or anything that disrupts national security,” said Al Dahbashi.

When can you take pictures and videos of people without permission?

Under no circumstances can the public post, publish or share videos they have filmed of violations or illegal actions in the UAE.
The only case where people are permitted to snap photos or record videos of crimes or violations of any kind without the permission of the other party is for the purpose of sharing with authorities as documentation of evidence.
The advice comes after the UAE Public Prosecution urged the public to avoid sharing content that may harm national security and cause panic after a video showing UAE defence forces intercepting Houthi terrorist attacks was circulated on social media.

Here are the full list of penalties and fines for committing social media violations:

Information that agitates public opinion, causes panic or harms national security and affairs — one year in prison and Dh 100,000 fine

Kanye West says he returned unreleased Ray J sex tape to Kim Kardashian

In an interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Kanye said that he got his hands on an alleged unreleased sex tape featuring Kim and then-boyfriend Ray J.
According to Rap-Up

“I went and got the laptop from Ray J myself that night and then got on a red eye,” Ye said. “I met this man at the airport and got on a red eye, came back, delivered it to her at 8 a.m. in the morning.” He went on to describe Kim as the “most transacted upon human being other than Santa Claus or Jesus Christ.” While he and Kim may no longer be together, the “Eazy” rapper said that family remains his priority. “At the end of the day, I’m Jesus gang. I’m about family, just me and my kids’ mom, we’re not together. But I’m still gonna be the best dad,” he said. “But when you do little nuances… I’m not tryna be like Jackie Robinson where you tryna spit on me while I’m tryna hit a home run.”
Earlier in the interview, he addressed Kim’s new boyfriend Pete Davidson, claiming he was offended when she kissed the “SNL” star during her hosting gig in October, months after Kim filed for divorce. “People intentionally do things to be mean and hurt you and to be playing games, and then culturally it’s OK.” he said. “How you gonna bring me to ‘SNL’ and kiss the dude you dating right in front of me?
Any everybody’s like, ‘Oh, that’s cool.’”
