PHOTOS: Tina Turner was already 'ready to go' in 2019!

Tina Turner's final public appearance was one to remember.
The iconic singer, who died on Wednesday at age 83, last stepped out in public in November 2019 to attend the opening of the Broadway bio-musical, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City. "This musical is my life, but it's like poison that turned into medicine," the singer told the crowd, which included stars like Oprah Winfrey and Tiffany Haddish, during her surprise curtain call appearance.
"I can never be as happy as I am now." She also praised the musical's star, Adrienne Warren, saying, "Thank God for her."

Tina Turner's husband gave her one of his kidneys so that she could live longer. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Turner rose to fame as the raspy-voiced singer in a musical duo with her husband Ike - spawning hits like 'Nutbush City Limits' (named after the town where Turner was born) and 'River Deep, Mountain High'. In 1978, Turner divorced her husband, having suffered at the hands of his physical and sexual abuse during their tumultuous marriage - and the extent of this abuse was widely unknown until Turner released her 1986 memoir I, Tina and subsequent 1993 biopic What's Love Got To Do With It starring Angela Bassett. Both Bassett and Lawrence Fishburne (who portrayed Ike) were nominated for Academy Awards.

After leaving Ike, Turner did not own the rights to any of her music, which meant she had to grow her solo career from the ground up. Her early 80s comeback resulted in her track 'What's Love Got to Do with It' giving Turner her first and only Billboard Hot 100 number-one single, selling over two million copies worldwide.
Aged 44 at the time, Turner became the oldest solo female artist to top the Hot 100.
The song received three awards at the 1985 Grammy Awards - Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

After enduring years of abuse, Turner had reclaimed her life and career, becoming a certified Rock 'n' Roll legend and an inspiration to abuse survivors everywhere. Turner - who spent the last years of her life in Switzerland - went on to marry German music executive Erwin Bach in 2013, however, she suffered a stroke shortly after their wedding.
Then, in 2016, Turner was diagnosed with intestinal cancer and, after experiencing uncomfortable side effects from her initial treatment, she turned to homeopathic remedies.
Sadly, these worsened her condition and led her to have total kidney failure.

In 2017, Bach successfully donated one of his kidneys to Turner. In 2020's Happiness Becomes You: A Guide to Changing Your Life for Good, Turner praised her husband for his donation. "I'm happy to say that, thanks to my beloved husband, Erwin, giving me one of his kidneys, the gift of life, I'm in good health and loving life every day.
"I'm also thankful that I've not only survived but thrived so that I can pass on to you this book containing precious gifts that were given to me - the greatest gifts I can offer," she said, per People.

Oprah Winfrey Says Tina Turner Told Her She Was 'Ready to Go' in 2019.
While on Thursday's episode of CBS Mornings, Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King, who were on the show from Italy, recalled learning the news of Turner's passing. Winfrey added, "It was a blow, it was a blow. I was certainly aware that she was ill but I had seen her in 2019 and gone to visit her in the hospital and she had said to me then that she was actually ready to go, meaning, ready to leave the planet. I expected then that was going to be the last time that I saw her.”

Turner's rep confirmed the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll's death on Wednesday, revealing that she died peacefully after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.

Turner's verified Instagram account also posted a statement confirming the tragic news.
"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow," the statement read. "Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly."

The 'Queen of Rock 'n' Roll' had two biological children (both dead).
She had her first son, named Raymond Craig, with Kings of Rhythm saxophonist Raymond Hill.
She had a second son with Ike Turner, named Ronnie, who played bass guitar in a band called Manufactured Funk with songwriter and musician Patrick Moten.
She also adopted two of Ike Turner's sons and would raise his children as her own.

Dolly Parton, Mick Jagger, Barack Obama, other celebs and the world, pay tribute to the legend.

In December last year, Turner's son Ronnie died at the age of 62 from complications caused by colon cancer.
Ronnie's death came only four years after his older brother, Craig, killed himself in his Studio City home at the age of 59. Craig is pictured here with their mother.
Rest in perfect peace, beautiful legend, Tina Turner, love you and will miss you greatly!!!!

Photos: Mother drowns one of her daughters in their home & was trying to kill another child

A mother drowned one of her daughters in their South Carolina home and was trying to kill another child when the oldest daughter was awakened by screams and managed to save her sister, a sheriff said.
Jamie Bradley Brun, 37, was charged with murder and attempted murder after the attack early Friday in their home on St. Helena Island, Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner said at a news conference.
Brun has talked to investigators and Tanner called it a horrific crime but told reporters he wouldn't say why Brun wanted to kill her children.
“I’m not a mental health expert. It’s not my job to determine if someone has a mental health problem," the sheriff said.
Brun's 16-year-old daughter was asleep around 1:30am Friday when her 8-year-old sister's screams woke her up.

The sheriff wouldn’t detail how the mother was trying to drown her child, but said the girl's cries were coming from the bathroom. The teen went into the bathroom and managed to wrest her sister away from her mother and run to a nearby family member's house to call 911, Tanner said. “I’m very proud of her. I think she did an unbelievable job.
She defended her family when no one else was available,” Tanner said. "Her courage is amazing.”

Deputies arrived eight minutes later and found Brun and her 6-year-old daughter, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital after CPR by officers and paramedics could not revive her, investigators said.
Brun tried to grab a deputy's gun as she was arrested and officers shocked her with a Taser to take her into custody, Tanner said. Brun was being held without bond.
Jail and court records didn't indicate if she had a lawyer.
The 8-year-old did not appear to be seriously injured, and the sheriff said she and her teen sister are being cared for by other family members.
Brun had no arrest record in South Carolina and authorities had been called to the house only once about two years ago after a school employee was concerned about the mental health of one of the children, Tanner said.
"There is a lot more information that we have and a lot more details that we know but at this point we can’t share," Tanner said.

PHOTOS: 18 y.o Hawaiian, Iam Tongi wins 'American Idol' Season 21

On Sunday night, 18-year-old Tongi was crowned the season 21 American Idol.
"American Idol" Season 21 delivered yet another shock during its tense finale. Sunday's three-hour broadcast, which aired live on ABC coast-to-coast, saw the final three contestants − Megan Danielle, Colin Stough and Iam Tongi − each take the stage for the last time to win votes from viewers. Judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie provided feedback as usual, but in this last leg of the competition, all they could offer was praise and good wishes as the singers leave the show to embark on their music careers.

The final three each sang two songs: one by guest mentor Keith Urban and another in tribute to their hometowns.

Then, host Ryan Seacrest revealed which contestants made the Top 2, and those singers went head-to-head with original songs. Tongi got the crowd chanting his name after singing Urban's "Making Memories of Us," Danielle belted to the heavens with a Journey classic and Stough brought his good 'ol country boy charm to a Chris Stapleton hit.

Tongi is originally from Kahuku, a town in O’ahu, Hawaii, and is of Tongan, Samoan and Irish descent. The 18-year-old singer is a senior at Decatur High School in Federal Way, Washington, outside of Seattle, where he and his family moved three years ago. When asked why he moved by the judges, Tongi said his family was "priced out of paradise.''

Tongi told the Kent Reporter that he wears a warm scarf around his neck and drinks plenty of fluids to preserve his voice. He explained that he performs this ritual because he loses his voice before every performance.

Iam Tongi becomes first Pacific Islander to win American Idol

Hearty congratulations to Tongi and Hawaii!!!

Kim Kardashian laments that life as a single mother is hard!

In an upcoming podcast, Kim Kardashian spoke about what she thought parenting would be like before they had kids and how parenting is like for her now.
She agrees that when you have kids days are long but the years are short. Describing it as the ‘best chaos’, Kardashian said, “So, like, when you're in it, I mean, especially when they're babies and you're feeding ... there's madness going on. It's like full madness.”
The ‘The Kardashian’ star further details on the same and said that the kids all need whether you have to help with someone’s hair or put on the shoes for another.
She added, “This all turns into crazy madness with running around and helping all the kids. Kim also added, ‘It has been the most challenging thing."
Kim continued, "There are nights I cry myself to sleep. Like, holy shit, this f---ing tornado in my house. Like, what just happened?” The SKIMS founder also added that kids also have all these moods, personalities, and fighting, during which she realized that no one else is going to handle it and it is just on her.
Though Kim Kardashian calls parenting one of the hardest jobs in the world, the reality star agrees that it is also the most rewarding job in the world.

Video: Salma Hayek exposes body while celebrating 24 million Instagram followers

Salma Hayek seemed to accidentally flash the world while celebrating an Instagram milestone online.
The star had just managed to reach the 24 million follower mark on the social media platform, and decided - as she is within her rights to do - to dance about wearing nothing but a dressing gown. Posting the clip of herself dancing away, Hayek wrote:
“24 million followers, 24 million reasons to smile. Thank you all for joining me on this wild ride! I cannot contain my excitement & gratitude.”
It certainly seems that way. In fact, Hayek was so excited that her team clearly had to step in and get crafty with a bit of blurring around her body - seemingly because she was showing off a bit more than she intended to.
The post has since racked up more than 830,000 likes and almost 6,500 comments - plenty of which are asking her to share the uncensored version. Tut tut.

Cash App founder Bob Lee dated killer's ex-GF & slept with killer's sister- Reports

Cash App founder Bob Lee dated his murder suspect's ex-girlfriend before he began casually sleeping with the alleged killer's sister, Khazar Momeni, friends familiar with Lee's relationships told The Wall Street Journal.
Nima Momeni, a 38-year-old tech consultant, faces a murder charge in connection to the fatal stabbing of Lee on April 4 in San Francisco. Prosecutors previously alleged in court documents that Momeni confronted Lee that night about his sister, Khazar, before the stabbing.

According to a witness that evening, Momeni asked Lee if his sister "was doing drugs" or "anything inappropriate." Lee's friends told WSJ that Khazar — who is married — was having an affair with Lee, but the Cash App founder's connection to his suspected killer goes back further:

About three years ago, Lee was dating Momeni's ex-girlfriend, the friends claimed. Keith Kraft, a mutual friend of both Lee and the unnamed woman, told the newspaper she started seeing Lee after splitting up with Momeni. It's unclear how long after the woman broke up with Momeni before she started dating Lee.

Kraft said he recalled Momeni giving him dirty looks when he spent time with the woman, which he thought suggested Momeni was a jealous person: "Look, bro, I'm gay, I'm not a threat to you," Kraft recalled telling Momeni. He added that Momeni may have had "some major insecurities going on."
Kraft did not respond to Insider's request for comment. Afterward, friends familiar with the matter said that Lee started sleeping with Khazar Momeni, who is married to Dino Elyassnia, a well-known San Francisco-based plastic surgeon.
The timeline of their alleged affair is unclear. An attorney for Elyassnia and Khazar did not respond to a request for comment.

Video: Sweden’s Loreen makes history as the first woman to win #Eurovision twice!

Sweden's Loreen won Eurovision 2023 with the song "Tattoo" in Liverpool, northern England, on Saturday, becoming the first woman to triumph twice in the contest.
Finland's Käärijä, a green-bolero-sleeved rapper, came second.
He won the viewer vote with "Cha Cha Cha", but it was not enough to overtake Loreen's lead after the result from the juries in the 37 participating countries.
"I am seriously overwhelmed," Loreen told reporters.

Comparing her win to 2012, she said: "It's like coming back to a family." Loreen is the only person after Ireland's Johnny Logan to win the contest twice, and her victory puts Sweden level with Ireland as the most successful Eurovision countries, 49 years after Abba's famous victory.

The 67th edition of the musical festival was held in the "City of Pop" on behalf of Ukraine, last year's winner, which was unable to host this year because of Russia's invasion.
Organisers had to walk a tightrope between putting Ukraine centre stage and steering clear of any overt political messages, which are not allowed in the contest. They largely succeeded.

Kalush Orchestra, 2022's winner, mixed video recorded in Ukraine with live performance in Liverpool in an opening sequence that included a cameo appearance from Britain's Kate, Princess of Wales, playing the piano. But as the contest was underway, Russian missiles hit the western Ukrainian city of Ternopil, home to electro-pop duo Tvorchi, this year's entry from the country.
Local authorities, writing on Telegram, said the strike had injured two people. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was barred from addressing worldwide viewers - who numbered 160 million last year - by contest organiser the European Broadcasting Union.
It said that granting his request, which was made with "laudable intentions", would be against the non-political nature of the event and its rules prohibiting making political statements.

Nonetheless, the show, watched by thousands in person on the banks of the River Mersey and by millions on TV, was infused with the spirit of Ukraine, notably in a rendition of "You'll Never Walk Alone" jointly sung in the arena and in Ukraine and which brought many in the audience to tears.
The 26 acts in the final spanned musical styles from ballads to heavy rock to rap, and included a handful of bizarre performances that the contest is renowned for.

Germany finished bottom of the table, just behind Britain, but no country received the dreaded "nul points."
Pam Minto, a 37-year-old support worker, said she hoped her city did Ukraine proud.
"We've just loved the whole event right across Liverpool from start to finish. It's just been amazing," she said.

Congratulations to Sweden and Loreen!
