The directive is in relation to precautionary and preventative measures to reduce the possibility of transmission of the COVID-19 virus infection.
In further preventative measures, The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge) have also issued a mandate stating that all schools and universities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi should cancel all trips, sports fixtures, events, exchanges and presentations, as well as extra-curricular activities, rehearsals and practices. A Tweet posted by the KHDA on Saturday February 28 said: “To make sure everyone in Dubai stays safe, all internal and external gatherings at private schools and universities in Dubai have been cancelled. This includes camps, sports and trips. This is a precautionary action only. Safety is always our top priority.”Nurseries across the UAE will be closed from March 1.#كورونا#فيروس_كورونا #كوفيد_19 #كوفيد19 #فيروس_كورونا_الجديد @mohapuae @NCEMAUAE pic.twitter.com/McyjPjc3zf— وزارة التربية (@MOEducationUAE) February 29, 2020
