Photos: French President, Emmanuel Macron arrives Afrika Shrine in Lagos, Nigeria

French President, Emmanuel Macron today made history as the first President ever to visit the Afrika Shrine, Ikeja Lagos.

The French President who is on a State Visit to Nigeria arrived the packed-to-capacity venue accompanied by Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and top government functionaries. He was welcomed to the Shrine by Femi Kuti, eldest son of the late Afrobeat Legend who along with Sister, Yeni Kuti opened the Shrine. Before making his way to his seat, President Macron took time to view an exhibtion curated by Tokini Peterside of Art X. The jovial President Macron and the amiable Governor Ambode exchanged banters with the artists after commending their works. The evening tagged ' A Celebration of African Culture", organised by Trace TV has Banky W as Master of ceremonies and it officially kicked off with a sterling performance by Footprints of David Youth Group.
