According to The Sun, Vanessa had been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in December last year and had to have major life-changing surgery to remove her bowel, which left her in hospital for 10 weeks.
She revealed how heartbroken family members were called to her bedside at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, because doctors didn’t think she would survive.
But despite the unfavorable condtion, she was determined to keep fighting and is set to marry her childhood sweetheart, Aaron Wharton, who she met at 16, in June 2020.
Vanessa says the infection finally healed, but she is still deemed a “high risk” patient and must have regular blood tests and look after her health.
After she was finally discharged, long-term boyfriend Aaron popped the question.
