On meeting with President Trump today, Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari says:
My meeting with President Donald Trump today (Monday, April 30) at the White House will provide an opportunity for reflection on the important relationship that Nigeria and the United States have forged over the last five decades of Nigeria’s democracy. The United States was one of the first countries I visited after I was sworn in as president in 2015. It was a necessary trip, aimed at rebuilding what was at the time a troubled relationship between the two countries. I am pleased to note the success of the rapprochement; nowhere has the impact of this been more visible than in the remarkable progress we have made, with American support, in the fight against Boko Haram. Before my administration assumed office, the terrorist group controlled an area the size of Massachusetts, New Jersey and Connecticut combined. Today, they are a substantially degraded force, with a capacity limited largely to cowardly attacks on soft targets. The Global Terrorism Index report for 2017 indicated that the number of terrorism-related deaths in Nigeria attributed to Boko Haram dropped by 80 percent in 2016. An arms sales embargo imposed on Nigeria by the U.S. government during my predecessor’s time in office has since been lifted. When President Trump and I spoke by telephone in February 2017, he expressed full support for the sale of U.S.-built A-29 Super Tucano aircraft to Nigeria, to boost the capacity of the Nigerian Air Force to respond decisively to the threat of terrorism and banditry. That deal has now been finalized. I expect that we will continue to enjoy similar levels of U.S. enthusiasm in our security cooperation.

18 y.o Nigerian, Ruti Olajugbagbe wins The Voice UK 2018
On the 7th of April, 2018, the live final of The Voice UK crowned its 2018 winner as Ruti Olajugbagbe.
Ruti battled it out against Lauren Bannon, Donel Mangena and Belle Voci, and it was her performance that ultimately wowed the viewers and the coaches on Saturday (April 7). Emma Willis began the show by announcing that the final four contestants would each give a solo performance before the voting opened.
Her coach this year, Sir Tom Jones was left speechless when he heard the result as he shot a shocked look at the camera. When asked how she felt following the news, Ruti confessed that she had no words. However, she did thank Tom for his support throughout this year’s series. As the final instalment came to a close, Ruti could be seen breaking down as she was overcome with emotion. Ahead of the result, Ruti admitted that she never expected to even win a place on The Voice. She explained: “It would be so amazing to win, I didn’t even expect to get a turn. “My friends and family have been so supportive. If I was to win hopefully they would be incredibly proud.” The result was quite a shock for many as it was previously revealed that Donel was the favourite to take the crown. However, many viewers at home were thrilled with Ruti’s win and took to Twitter to comment.

The UAE's Skype ban could soon be lifted
UAE officials are reportedly in talks about lifting Dubai's Skype and Facetime ban.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) is said to be holding discussions with Microsoft and Apple to allow the popular apps to be used across the emirates. The reported discussions come in light of both firms expanding their investments in the UAE, with Microsoft set to open two new data centres in the country. Apple already has three stores in the UAE, at The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Abu Dhabi's Yas mall – the only official outlets in the region.
TRA director Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori told Arabic newspaper Al Ittihad that relationships with the tech companies are “strong and stable.” He also noted the large number of subscribers for official calling applications BOTIM and C'Me. Currently, Etisalat offers the two services for Dhs50 per month on iOS and Android. Speaking to Time Out Dubai, a spokesman for the TRA said that the services are "still not available" but wouldn't confirm details of the reported talks.

Chris Coleman sacked by Sunderland
Chris Coleman has left Sunderland and the chairman Ellis Short has agreed to sell the club on a dramatic day at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland first confirmed Coleman had been released from his contract, following their drop into League One.
Minutes later they announced a deal had been struck to sell to a group led by Stewart Donald, the chairman of National League side Eastleigh.
It will mark the end of Short’s turbulent ownership which has now seen Sunderland tumble from the Premier League to League One in less than 12 months.
Short said in a statement: “It is no secret I have been trying to sell Sunderland but I have waited until the right group came along that have the experience, finances and plan to take this great club back to where it deserves to be.
“Overall my chairmanship has not gone the way I would have wished; the many high points of a decade in the Premier League have been overshadowed by the low points of the last two terrible seasons.
“I was therefore determined to ensure that I leave Sunderland in the best possible hands and in the best possible state to turn the corner.
“To achieve this, higher offers from less qualified buyers were rejected and I have paid off all debts owed by the club and leave it financially strong and debt free for the first time since years before I owned it.”
The deal is subject to EFL approval and Donald has confirmed he has also put Eastleigh on the market.
He said in a statement: “With my potential involvement in Sunderland, it is a condition that I must relinquish control of Eastleigh. If the rules were different I would have loved to remain with the club for many years to come.”

Thugs Disrupt Kaduna APC Gathering, Injure Five
Suspected thugs on Sunday disrupted a gathering of some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress loyal to Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, representing the Kaduna North Senatorial District at the Senate.
The thugs, numbering over 10, stormed the NUT End Well Hotel in Kaduna at about 3:15pm, attacking anybody in sight, including those that lodged in the hotel.

2019: I Don't Have To Go To US -Atiku Abubakar
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said he can be Nigeria’s president without visiting the United States of America. Atiku stated this on Saturday during an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation Hausa Service when he was asked how he intended to be Nigeria’s president without visiting the US.
He asked whether it was a constitutional provision that one must visit the US before becoming president. “I can be president without going to America,” he said.
He also commented on a statement credited to his former boss, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, that he (Atiku) would not be President while he was alive. He stated that Obasanjo was not God, saying that he didn’t lose sleep when he learnt that Obasanjo made such a statement. According to him, if it is God’s will for him to be president, nobody, not even Obasanjo, can challenge God.
The ex-VP also confirmed that he was denied a US visa when he wanted to travel to that country.

Ramadan sharing fridges in the UAE are back for 2018
With Ramadan beginning in the next few weeks – with the current predicted date as Tuesday May 15 – the popular initiative that gives back to the community will start up once again.
The sharing fridges campaign gives people in need access to free food and drinks during the month. Started in 2016, Ramadan fridges were first seen on Facebook raising awareness and getting people to stock fridges placed throughout the city.
Each is emptied and filled up to 20 times a day. And it takes several generous donors to fill a fridge, so they need all the help they can get. The group has been a major success, and now has almost 28,000 members. Last year more than 170 fridges across the city were set up, giving blue collar workers plenty to eat and drink during the summer. Food needed for the fridges includes juices, soda, milk, laban and packaged foods. Fruits and vegetables are also among favourites – although cooked food will not be taken. Manager Anne Mulcahy said 20 fridges are ready to be put out on day one of Ramadan this year, but she wants to make sure that they are always stocked up. Want to know where you can fill up your local fridge?
Check out the campaign’s Facebook page for more information. For more on what’s going on during Ramadan, take a look at everything you need to know with our guide.

Davido Didn’t Fight Actress In Zimbabwe – Asa Asika
Davido’s manager, Asa Asika has denied Davido had a fight with a South African actress in Zimbabwe last weekend. According to reports, Davido fought the actress named Boity, at a hotel after his performance for allegedly refusing his sexual advances.
Days after that, the singer was also accused by a jeweller, who claimed that Davido made away with some of his jewellery. According to him, upon getting to London, Davido refused to give him the proceeds of the sale and subsequent efforts to get his money have been futile.
However, in a brief chat with Davido’s manager, Asa Asika, he simply said, “I don’t have any comments about that issue.”
Commenting on the Zimbabwean scandal, Asika said, “That is not true; it never happened. I don’t know about what was written in any paper.” Meanwhile, Davido commented on an Instagram post that reported the story, saying, “Part five dey?”

I Want A Man Richer Than Otedola –Blessing Ofoegbu
When it comes to love, relationship and marriage, the choice of every woman differs. For Nollywood diva, Blessing Ofoegbu, who is still nursing a deep heartbreak, marrying a man richer than billionaire oil magnate, Femi Otedola, is her ultimate aim.
“I’m single and not in any relationship now, because I just broke up with my boyfriend a short while ago, so sexual urge is not my problem. However, when it’s time for marriage, I want a humble, God fearing, intelligent and bold man, and a man with good morals. I want a man with too much money. I want a man richer than (Femi) Otedola. I don’t want a stingy man. I want someone that will look at me and say ‘baby girl, you are worth eating my money’,” she told Inside Nollywood.

The best & worst laptop brands 2018
For 2018, Lenovo retained its place for a second year as the best laptop vendor, but it just barely edged out second-place HP and third-place Dell.
Apple, which used to dominate this contest, fell all the way to seventh place, down from fifth last year.
Apple, which used to dominate this contest, fell all the way to seventh place, down from fifth last year.
1. Lenovo (86/100)
Lenovo takes first place again this year, on the strength of the company's fantastic product lineup. From the beautiful ThinkPad X1 Carbon, which was the only product to get a perfect, 5-star review in the past year, to the versatile Yoga 920, Lenovo's laptops earned the most Editors' Choice awards of any brand. And a full 53 percent of the company's laptops scored 4 or higher. However, Lenovo's tech support scores declined from last year, and stiff competition from HP and Dell made this a nail-bitingly close race.
2. HP (85/100)
After a banner year, filled with compelling laptops such as the gorgeous HP Spectre x360, the powerful ZBook 17 and the affordable HP Envy 13t, HP jumped ahead two places from its spot in 2017 to finish second. With great design marks and the second highest review score, HP gave Lenovo a run for its money.
3. Dell (82/100)
Dell's product portfolio is a mixture of fantastic premium systems, like the Dell XPS 13 and the awesome Alienware 15, and ho-hum mainstream and budget products. The company earned high marks for its improved tech support, which assigns users personal tech support people who follow up with them.
4. Acer (81/100)
With laptops like the Spin 1 and Aspire E 15 in its lineup, Acer knows how to provide premium features at bargain-basement prices. The company can also make bold premium products, as evidenced by the $9,000 Predator 21X.
4. Asus (81/100)
Thanks to innovative systems like the Zephyrus, Asus is a leader in gaming. With stunning blue models like the ZenBook UX331UN, indestructible laptops like the Chromebook C213S and great bargains like the ZenBook UX330UA, Asus is also a leader in design and value.
6. Microsoft (77/100)
Microsoft makes only a handful of laptops, but all of its systems are first-rate. The company's innovative Surface Book 2 convertible and the colorful and comfortable Surface Laptop are highlights.
7. Apple (72/100)
Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Apple just doesn't seem as focused on its laptop business as it used to be. The company did nothing to innovate or even tweak its designs in the past year, and only one of the company's laptops earned an Editors' Choice award. However, Tim Cook's company still has the best tech support you can get.
8. Razer (70/100)
If you're looking for a premium gaming laptop and you have a generous budget, you should look into Razer, which has some really compelling laptops. Those include the Razer Blade and Razer Blade Pro. However, if you need something more affordable, you'll have to look elsewhere.
9. MSI (67/100)
MSI is one of the premiere gaming-laptop companies, but it still finds itself in a tie for 10th place, primarily because of very weak tech support. However, the company still has some very compelling products, including the MSI GT75VR Titan Pro, which had the best keyboard of any gaming laptop.
9. Samsung (67/100)
If Samsung gave its laptops half the amount of love as it gives its phones, the company would probably fare better. As it stands, Samsung offers a small lineup of laptops that just don't stack up to the competition. It also has, by far, the least-attractive designs in the industry. However, the tech support is excellent.

Bill Cosby on house arrest! Wears an ankle monitor until his sentencing
Bill Cosby can’t leave his suburban Philadelphia home and must wear a GPS monitor until he is sentenced on sexual assault charges.
According to Page Six:
A day after the comedian was found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 2004, Judge Steven O’Neill outlined the strict bail conditions, saying the 80-year-old can only leave his house to meet with lawyers or doctors.
Even then, he can’t stray far from his home county and needs written permission from the probation office. Cosby, who is out on $1 million bail, faces up to 30 years behind bars.
